How do you decide on a name for your business? You name it after the two things you love most in life.

Dog & Wine developed from the need to create furniture that was artistic and original.

As COVID took over the world, Kate filled her free time exploring her artistic side. Starting slowly with small gifts for friends and family, she quickly developed a love for building utilitarian art, furniture that is unique and functional.

A particle-board living room table from college quickly got replaced with a glass and maple river table, and bedside tables acquired from the Buy Nothing social media group were replaced by birdseye maple and sapele six-legged tables with handmade brass knobs.

Soon, she ran out of furniture to replace at her house and started creating fun pieces for galleries and restaurants.

Her creativity flourishes under her mentor and fellow dog lover, Gary Mcluen, as well as from the support of her fellow woodworkers in the PNW.
